National Night out Against Crime Prevention and Drug Abuse in Benbrook was cancelled due to weather.
Phone messages were left at the Fort Worth Recovery Resource Counsel. Krista M. sent an email stating that she would be glad to forward information about upcoming health/safety fairs.
I attended the WTA Action Committee on Public Outreach while in Abilene. I received an e-mail from the WTA Public Outreach Coordinator, Martha P. The Hallmark channel is producing a made for TV movie "When Love Is Not Enough". It is a story about Lois W., it is not a documentary. WSO has been cooperating with Hallmark and the time and date is not known at this time.
I have contacted several people about taking meetings to New Valley Hope Treatment Center which is in Grapevine. Don W. a family counselor there has recently taken over responsibility for coordinating the 12 step meetings. I will be coordinating future meetings with Don.
I have talked with both Marlene O. and Laura C. who have previously taken meetings there. I talked with Chris A. the DR for District 14 and he is contacting the GRs in this district about volunteering to take meetings. Marlene O. the DR for District 15 has several groups willing to help with this responsibility.
Cindy K. requested al-anon literature to hand out at the All Saints Episcopal School Parish Conference on 11-14. . I suggested she get together with Lydia, who had some of the Public Outreach literature.

Baylor All Saints Al-Anon Informational Meetings – The meetings have started up again with the same format. Meetings were taken Nov.21st and 28th. December meetings will be done by several volunteers. Saginaw AFG has agreed to be responsible for the month of January. Anyone interested in helping with the meetings in December please contact Cheryl C.
WTA, November 5-7, was fantastic, an exciting example of Knowledge-Based-Decision-Making in action. Because we had been made aware of possible motions to come to the floor, we were better able to understand them at the Friday night AWSC meeting. We also had time to discuss them with our own GRs before the business meeting on Saturday. Consequently, the voting was smooth, with more yawns than tension. However, I really wanted, had a real need for, an actual Al-Anon meeting while I was there.
Have you noticed at your meetings more DPS-mandated attendance in your Al-Anon meetings? I’ve been at two meetings where newcomers had to have a paper signed for mandated attendance.
Lisa O. recently shared her story with a group of Volunteers of America.
District 14 - - Chris A. No report.
